YES
WARFIELD THEATER
SAN FRANCISCO, CA
NOVEMBER 6, 1999
It seems all the great old bands from yesteryear are still out there making pilgrimages around the country and the world, although its not quite the scene of the past. These days we can enjoy a great band like "Yes" in a small intimate venue like the Warfield Theater, what a treat! The band was in good forum. Despite the many line-up changes that "Yes" has been through over the years they are still very tight as a group. The crowd was very excited during the whole show; smiles were breaking everywhere, like waves on the beach. The show consisted mostly of songs from their latest release, "The Ladder." The light show was toned down a bit from the last time I saw "Yes" perform, but the music surely sounded as good as ever. When Chris Squire pulled out his three-neck, twelve-string bass guitar it shook the ground and went right through your stomach. Completely awesome!! The encore was the greatest hits part of the concert, but I felt that they didn't alot for enough time to play all of their best songs for this show. They returned to the stage after thunderous applause and even a little floor stomping for an encore which included the three songs that no "Yes" show should go without, "All Good People" followed by, "Owner of a Lonely Heart" and then "Roundabout" to close the show. Thanks for reading and we'll see ya at the shows.
