    ROCKTIME PRESENTS
    TOOL
    9/2/2006
    AT
    SLEEP TRAIN AMPHITHEATRE
    MARYSVILLE, CA.

Tool! Maynard and company kicked ass the other night at Sleep Train Amphitheatre in the Sacramento area. The stage was all white; the floor, and a ten foot high backdrop, all pure white. I thought that was going to make the photo shoot a breeze, my mistake. Maynard was twenty feet back from the front of the stage and the lights were dim for the whole first song. After the shoot, I wasn't sure if I even got a picture that was good enough to present to the public. We were only allowed the first song to shoot, which is less than standard. It made it a real tough, enjoy the pics, but don't knock'em, they were really hard to get. Anyway, the performance lacked no luster, the band was tight and heavy, the screens were huge and graphicly distorted. I was a virgin for Tool, and found my cherry nicely popped before I got my "Aenima" at the end. All in all, great band, great lights, great sound, great show!

Touring in support of their much anticipated fourth full fledged studio album, "10,000 Days." It lives, it breathes, it comes from Volcano 3 records and it's in stores now. The set list was perfect, some old, some new, a sampling of Tool for the most demanding of fans, each song much longer than the studio cuts. I can't remember which song it was, but they put these psychedelic spirals on the screen floor, and wall, and it made them look like they were 3D. This was one of the coolest stage lighting effects I have ever seen, really impressive. I would spend money to see Tool again, I left the show feeling very satisfied. If you are a Tool fan, pony up the bucks and get yourself a seat to the show, you definitely want to be up front. Thanks for reading amnd we'll see ya the shows!
